Vitamin D or D3 for Deficiency?
I’ve been having multiple symptoms for about 9 months that I questioned questions about on here b/c no one seems to know what exactly are causing my symptoms. My doc told me today that after trying nearly everything (aside from a cat scan that I’m due to have) we are now at the "end of the line" with regard to coming up with a diagnosis.
He did state but that my vitamin D test came back quite low and suggested I take 1000IU twice per day. He didn’t give me a specific brand to take so wondering if anyone has any recommendations and if I should be looking for regular Vitamin D or Vitamin D3? Does it matter? Also, is it excellent to take magnesium too with a Vitamin D supplement? I’m in search of a excellent Liquid multivitamin too.
Some of my symptoms include, chronic fatigue, muscle and joint pain, headaches, irritability, and mood swings, and night sweats.
PS. I stay indoors practically all day. I don’t go out in the sun that much at all. I never knew the importance of this until I read about the causes of a vitamin D deficiency.
why can’t your doctor or pharmacist recommend a brand?? sit outside in the sun for 15 minutes each day without sunscreen.

Your right about the importance of this vitamin and the only place we can get it from naturally is the sun. This deficiency is found more in caucasians of a light complexion. These people are usually found indoors because they tend to get sunburn instead of tanning. It sounds like you have more than the deficiency though. You can take any brand of Vitamin D and the D3 is even better. Usually the store brand will be the cheapest but you’ll find allot of sales where if you buy one you get one free so when you see this get stocked up depending on the expiration dates. Have you been tested for pernicious anemia? This is a blood disorder that covers most of your symptoms. The doctor needs to take a biopsy of your bone marrow to find out. Try asking him when you see him after your CT scan. I’m not so sure what that might show that matches your symptoms. If your scan comes back negative you might want to find a doctor that is more into diagnostics although I don’t know what you have already been through. I wish you excellent luck on your scan and God Bless
